The Mourning Angel
On a dark and gloomy day
as I struggled with my belief,
A luminous angel came my way
I thought to give some relief
“Don’t fret, don’t fright”
The beautiful being said,
“It will be all right”
The words echoed in my head
From your hurt, you can’t hide,
I know your path is rough.
Left with no one at your side
Your life shouldn’t be this tough.
You lost your best friend,
now all is grey and cold.
Too soon was the end,
yet not meant to forever hold
You feel lost and alone,
you have many reasons why.
Child, she’ll welcome you home
for there are no true Good-byes.
She will be replaced by no other
and forever be in your heart
In the bond, of daughter and mother,
the two can never be apart.
